The maker of ERP software releases a new version that incorporates additional tools for warehouse management activities, promising more inventory control for warehouse managers.

ERP maker Deacom kicked off the new year with the announcement of new supply chain execution tools in the latest version of its ERP software.

Supply chain execution and warehouse management are not new to Deacom’s ERP system, but certain tools targeted at warehouse managers are making their debut here at the dawn of 2012. The updates are intended to enhance the inventory management capabilities in Deacom’s integrated Warehouse Management System (WMS), the vendor said in an announcement this week.

Three new features will appear in WMS when Deacom releases its newest ERP package late this month or early next month, a spokeswoman told TechMATCH Pro. The Master Lots tool will allow a warehouse manager or other system user to group a series of lots into one master item, ensuring that inventory actions will apply to all lots in that grouping. Also new to WMS is the Lot Locations feature, which provides users with a pre-set list of locations where lots may be stored in the warehouse. Workers can sort lots by location for quicker retrieval of key information, Deacom said in the announcement.

Deacom will also offer a new Containers tool, which gives users another method for grouping inventory. The company said the capability will present a more intuitive report, showing users where inventory is actually located on the premises.

The provider of ERP software has deep roots in the process manufacturing industries. Customers typically hail from sectors such as adhesives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and paints and chemicals.
