The latest version of Intacct Financial Management and Accounting System aims to work seamlessly on mobile devices such as iPads and Android tablets, and promises a more consumer-like experience.

Intacct Corp., a provider of financial and accounting software, this week revealed the latest version of its cloud-based offering, touting a new ERP system for service and project-based businesses, a marketplace for partner applications, and new integration with iPads, iPhones, and Android tablets and phones.

Intacct Fall 2011 is the latest release of Intacct Financial Management and Accounting System. The system features what the company in a statement called a consumerized user interface. That means users of the financial software can indicate favorite items via stars, create bookmarks, employ instant searching, and manipulate information on their screen through drag-and-drop actions.

Of the financial software’s 225 functional enhancements, 31 were crowd-sourced from existing customers and partners, Intacct said in its statement. Accessing those new features should now be easier for mobile workers, as Intacct has extended its software to work on iPads, iPhones, and Android-based phones and tablets. The software’s mobile interfaces are gesture-aware, Intacct said, and respond to common actions like touch-screen taps, swipes, and pinches.

In addition, a new marketplace for complementary applications will become available this month, according to the company, stocked with more than 80 applications. Initially available as a standalone Website, the marketplace will be embedded in Intacct’s applications beginning in the first quarter of the new year.

For service businesses and companies that operate on a project basis, there’s Intacct Services Resource Planning, which the vendor calls a complete cloud-based ERP system. To create the system, Intacct melded three pillars: its own financial management and project accounting software, Salesforce.com’s CRM capabilities, and Clarizen’s project management and planning technology. Intacct said it has created “three-way synchronization” among the pillars.

Pricing begins at $1,500 per month for the ERP suite, the company said.
