Supply Chain Execution Partnership Yields New Tool

SPS Commerce ties up with DropShip.com in a bid to bolster the credentials of manufacturers and others seeking retail partners.

With the announcement this week of a partnership between SPS Commerce and DropShip.com, manufacturers who drop-ship products through retail establishments now have a new tool in supply chain execution.

The partnership centers on Retail Universe, SPS Commerce’s free online trading community, according to the announcement. Manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors who use the community to maintain and prospect for business with retailers will now be able to trumpet their drop-ship credentials through integration with DropShip.com’s software.

DropShip.com software includes brands such as Supplier Utopia and Retailer Nivana, said to help ease supply chain execution by keeping inventory information up to date, standardizing product catalogs, processing orders, and managing one-to-many connections between the manufacturer and retail partners. Specifically, companies using Retail Universe can now keep their profiles fresh by seeding them with information from the DropShip.com platform.

"By connecting with DropShip.com, Retail Universe members can demonstrate their ability to meet the requirements of their e-commerce trading partners," said Jeremy Hanks, CEO of DropShip.com.
