After analyzing the offerings of various ERP applications providers, manufacturer Meggitt Inc. selects IFS Applications as its new system of record.
Midsize manufacturer Meggitt Inc. has selected IFS Applications as its new ERP system, the software vendor revealed.
After a software evaluation that included a “large field of ERP products,” the Maryland-based maker of sensors and accelerometers chose the ERP suite from IFS North America, according to a statement released by the software provider.
The high-tech manufacturer will run a slew of applications from the IFS suite, including Business Performance, Financials, Distribution, Manufacturing, Engineering/Product Design, Maintenance, Sales and Support, and Human Resources.
In the wake of the switch to IFS ERP, “Our customers will benefit as we will be able to provide much more timely and detailed reporting and automated order placement with immediate e-mail acknowledgement,” said Meggitt Inc. President Derek Carbin in the statement. “It will provide us with greater visibility of inventory and enable us to manage it much better than [we can] today.”
Other IFS customers in the high-tech manufacturing world include NEC, QuadTech, Beijer Electronics, and Olympus KeyMed.
Another recent ERP selection project by a midsize manufacturer resulted in the purchase of software from IFS competitor Epicor. To compare the capabilities of IFS Applications with those of the Epicor software and other ERP packages for manufacturers, visit TechMATCH Pro.
